Around five thousand years ago these stones were placed here. It was an amazing site.

The Guard Changes
Most of you are aware of the changing of the guard ceremony at Buckingham Palace. However, there are so many people watching it’s very hard to get close. We found out by accident there is a ceremony at Windsor Castle too. As you can see I was within 25 feet of the band as they played and marched off the field.
Royal Albert Hall
I posted the interior of the hall earlier but I wanted to show the exterior as well. What makes this photo unusual is the clear blue sky. This was shot about 9:30AM and two hours later it was pouring rain.
Big Ben
It’s 316′ high and opened in 1859.
Tower of London
Every couple of hours there are free docent tours including the opportunity to see the Crown Jewels. A fascinating place.
London Eye

Royal Albert Hall
Attending Royal Albert Hall to hear a performance of Tchaikovsky played by the Royal London Philharmonic Orchestra was one of the highlights of our recent visit to London. These round objects are fiberglass acoustic diffusers and were installed in the ceiling to reduce the echo effect. They also make for an interesting photo.
Windsor Castle
We hired a bus to drive us to Windsor Castle which was 2.5 hours from London. It was well worth the cost and time it took. They also have a changing of the guard ceremony which is much easier to see than at Buckingham Palace.
Tower Bridge
Returned home last night from a week in London. This will be the first post of several from the trip. Many think this is the London Bridge but it’s not. Crossing this bridge to get you to the Tower of London.
