The virus has basically stoped my travels for the last year or so. But now starting to get out a bit. I recently drove to Jackson Hole and was able to get several good photos including one of my favorite subjects. I’ve taken hundreds of shots of the barn and each of them are different depending on time of year, weather, time of day etc.
Snow
Hors Frost Two
Boise River Snow
Christmas in Sun Valley
Winter
Just returned from a family ski trip in South Lake Tahoe and it snowed all night and most of the day we were to leave for home. Yes, four wheel drive or chains was mandatory.
Sun Valley Barn
I have no idea how many times this iconic barn had been photographed but it’s a lot.
Corral Store
We made a short visit to Boise and Sun Valley Idaho this week. I saw this abandoned store on Highway 20 just south of Fairfield, Idaho.
Emerald Bay Snowfall
There is a reason it’s called Emerald Bay, however, this photo doesn’t show you why. I’ll post the iconic shot tomorrow but I wanted you to see what it looked like our first morning in South Lake Tahoe last week. I have all wheel drive and needed it to get up the mountain. Had the camera wrapped up like a baby between shots to keep it warm and dry.
Montana October Storm
By 11:00 AM on the day it snowed the mountains in the background were completely covered and these low hanging black clouds were nearly at ground level. The Brown Trout fishing was pretty good. They like cold weather..
Central Coast Snow
This photo is special to me for a couple of reasons. First, having it snow on the Central Coast of California is very rare. Secondly, it was taken with Fuji Velvia 50. I have never used this film and wanted to see for myself what it was like. I was driving to Santa Barbara this morning to drop off the role for developing and had one frame left. One of those lucky things. It was scanned at 1800 with a Plustek 8100.
